I've been going on a movie rampage lately, since there is a dollar deal at Blockbluster. I watched The Guru--hahaha, I just don't know what to say about that movie. I'd give it a 6.5 out of 10. But the opening, I'd give that a 10. One of the best openings EVER.
Then I saw The Family Man with Nicholas Cage, whom I think is an amazingly talented actor. That movie was more of an 8 out of 10. Plus, I love insightful movies, which this definitely was.
Today, I rented Unfaithful and am about to watch it. I was in the mood for a drama. The gay guy at the counter joked with me, "Honey, this is an intense movie!" Oh, gay boys :)
I should be doing some homework. But instead I'm going to watch my intense movie and eat some Hawaiian BBQ Chicken! That's right, take that homework! *sticks out tongue*
hehe.
P.S. The weather is SD has been ERRATIC. Monday it was next to 90 degrees. Yesterday it was around 75. Today, somewhere in the 60's, windy and a little rainy. WHAT THE HELL?
We should have a "movie night," Ash. We can watch the same movie one night. Which shouldn't be a problem because we are in the same time zone.
ReplyDeleteOh man, "Unfaithful"....that movie makes me tingle.........wow I typed that out didn't I...
ReplyDeleteYou have no right to blog about erratic weather :) In MN it was snowing on Friday night and today it's 65.
ReplyDeletealright thomas, I suppose we can do that, haha.
ReplyDeleterachel--I JUST finished watching that movie...INTENSE!
felicia--ok, you win. But in San Diego, we can't handle this much weather change, we're wimps!!
Movie marathons are great. I do wish I could do another one too.
ReplyDeleteI dunno about this Nicholas Cage fella. I mean, he was really good in Raising Arizona...but he also did National Treasure, which kind of sucked a lot.
ReplyDeleteI am watching all the Law and Order: SVU's, and am having very disturbing dreams. The show makes me want to put all children in protective custody.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Frank on Nicholas Cage: Leaving Las Vegas and Moonstruck, and of course, Adaptation show his brilliance; but he needs to stop picking up paychecks for Ghost Rider.
Ah yes, Anthony. Adaptation was an absolutely brilliant movie. I mean, who KNEW Nicholas Cage had a twin? It just, like, totally blew my mind! ROFL
ReplyDeleteyeah true, Ghost Rider was pushin' it. But I don't see it as him selling out; rather, I think Nicholas Cage just likes to have some fun with silly roles. Ain't nothing wrong with that! What I like about him: He really turns into every role he plays and I believe it 100 percent.
ReplyDeletePsh, you don't know crazy weather. It sort of snowed on Monday, but was like 70 today. I kind of regretted taking the plastic off my windows when I was trying to pack on Monday, but today I was all sorts of sweaty walking to the train with heavy stuff.
ReplyDeleteGlad you commented on my blog so I can keep an eye on yours! I want to live in a perpetual movie marathon but I can't manage the late fees...
ReplyDeleterecently did the same thing myself as we were hit with some shitty weather in DC. hit up "cloverfield" (which surprisingly ended up being pretty good I thought, some crappy dialogue aside of course) and both "28 days" and "28 weeks later" which are pretty much both kinda smack you in the mouth awesome (at least the first one..love me some danny boyle). I'm not sayin' that you have to watch them, I'm just sayin'.
ReplyDeletei think my favorite nicholaus cage flick was matchstick men.
ReplyDeleteunfaithful. that's the one with french guy who gets clocked over the head, right? i think i remember liking that one.
and, until you feel the hell that is southern louisiana weather, i don't wanna hear no complainin. :)
weather in LA is weird too -
ReplyDeletesometimes cool - sometimes blistering = sometimes in the middle...what happened to our predictable weather?
What movie and what day, Ash?
ReplyDeleteafter finals is the best time for me. So in two weeks. I've procrastinated until this week, and now I'm down to the wire (what's new? haha).
ReplyDeleteHmmm...maybe Sleepless in Seattle? haha. We'll decide later.
That would be a good choice, Ash. I have that movie on DVD already. Kind of required if you live in Seattle.
ReplyDeleteSo I guess we should unpack our "Sleepless in Seattle" DVDs, Ash?
