So, I've been watching American Idol this season. I haven't watched since the second season, when Clay Aiken was on. For some weird reason I decided to watch again. haha. That silly show...Anyway, back to the point I want to make. There is a contestant name Adam Lambert. And when I heard his name, I thought to myself, "That name sounds so familiar!" They even mentioned that Adam was from San Diego originally. But I thought I was just mixing that name up with a Neil Lambert that was in my grade. Well, turns out that wasn't so off, cause Neil is Adam's little brother.
Adam was apparently a senior when I was a freshman. I recall him from plays (i.e. A Midsummer Night's Dream). And back then he had reddish/blond hair and lots of freckles. haha. A bit of a change! Looks like someone got a hold of some hair dye and went tanning.
We truly live in a small world.

No Freakin' WAY! I haven't been following idol, but I did watch last weeks episode and I LOVED Adam Lambert! He did such a great job with the Michael Jackson song. I really want him to win, and I thats the only episode I have watched hahaha. That's crazy Ash!!

That's funny, there's a girl who was on this season's Idol who went to school with one of my friends, and when she found out she freaked out and showed us all her audition in front of the judges. Small, small world.
ReplyDeleteMy dissertation's on the adaptation of children's literature into film and TV, but specifically on the way that Disney has adapted original fairy tales and books and sort of taken over from the more traditional method of reading to your children at night. Disney versions are more accessible and known than the original tales, and I'm sort of doing a study into how this has affected kids growing up in America and England. That was very wordy! I'm still working out some of the kinks, but basically I get to watch a lot of Disney movies, read children's books, conduct research and interview people about their experiences with Disney, and potentially go on a research trip to Disneyland =)
