Turkey or Bust!!

*sigh*

I'm still really wanting to go to Turkey in the fall; however, my cousin warned me that Istanbul is a very expensive place, and the schools are not gonna pay that well, in addition to this global economic crisis.

I'm hoping I can work this out and find a school that will pay for lodging (or live with my family, possibly).

To compare, or to give you guys a proper analogy, Istanbul is Turkey's New York City. If that makes sense. Although the dollar is doing better than the Turkish Lira, it's still gonna cost a lot to live there.

Well there's no use in worrying about this. There is a saying: "If a problem can be solved there is no use worrying about it. If it can't be solved, worrying will do no good."

I just wanna find the right solution. Time to research!!!

  4. Hey, if you need any advice on this, this is right up my alley, buddy. As an example, consider the Fulbright scholarship. There IS a way to NOT pay.

  5. There's a scholarship set up for working in another country??

  6. well, I looked it up, Ant, and saw that a lot of the scholarships require you to have a PHD or master's, which I don't...maybe you should do it! :)

  7. No, that's not true; there ARE scholarships for those who have their Bachelor's degree and also for those who may not apply for graduate programs. Here's the proof:

It might take some time, but keep looking for the 2011-2012 award, if you're interested. The application opens up May 1st, but isn't due until October. Here's the application page:

If you can wait another year, please do so. They give a SUBSTANTIAL amount of money, enough to live off of and then some. If you want to go this year, however, keep looking around. There HAS to be money for what you want to do.

I'll let you know if I hear anything about funding/immigration. Love!
