Concrete Jungle Where Dreams Are Made Of (New York, Part 3)

The one thing you'll do plenty of in New York is walk, walk, walk...look at a building...then walk some more. I walked more (and faster) in New York than I ever have on any of my trips.

But what's great is as you are walking, you run into so many great sites on one block the sore feet are worth every step...

The New York Public Library is just as beautiful as I hoped it would be, and I found myself jealous that I couldn't study there every week.

Miles of walking makes one ravenously hungry, so it was time to hunt down food. I was told of a few great food establishments to try, and Katz's Deli was one place I just had to go to.

The reason is two fold:

1. This is where the infamous orgasm scene was shot in for When Harry Met Sally.
2. They supposedly have some of the best, authentic pastrami sandwiches in all of New York. My dad has always wanted said sandwich from NY, and this was my chance to brag.

Honestly, I'm not sure if that pastrami can be described as anything other than orgasmic. I've never had a better sandwich in my life. IN. MY. LIFE.

Just pastrami, mustard and rye. That's all I need in life.

After a glorious lunch, it was off to Broadway to see Mamma Mia, which was perfect for a cold and rainy evening.

Before the show, I just had to have a picture with the NYPD. Look at their cute little hats! This cop was nice enough to comply with my silly request.

Thanks for humoring me, Mr. Officer.

And guess what? I have even more pictures of NY. Until next time...

  1. I'm sure NYC has bragging rights when it comes to pastrami but in my opinion L.A. actually has the best at Langer's. DROOL, I OBSESS over that sandwich all year round here in MN! Try the #19.

    1. Oh, but Felicia, you have GOT to try this Sandwich!!! I'll try the LA one sometime, seeing as it's so close to me :)

  2. oooh that pastrami looks good! Oh and I checked out the previous posts you did about New York and I am loving all the pictures. I might be going to New York this August and just seeing these pictures has me super excited.

  3. Hey there! Trying to catchup. These NY posts are getting to me. I want to book a flight and go off and eat all the foods! Glad you had such a wonderful time. How could you not? :)

  4. YAY! I'm so glad there is even more to come. I totally understand. It's impossible to not take a bajillion pictures. Every view is a post card.

That Katz's sandwich is making my tummy growl. yummmmmmmmmmm

  5. Haha, you crack me up lady. Glad you had a good time. And indeed...NYPD has tiny hats... Hahaha!

  6. Glad you guys got to take in a Broadway show on Broadway! There's nothing like it. :)

  7. Hehe, you were SUCH a tourist! Having said that, I loved Katz' and would go back in a heartbeat, ridiculously priced $16 Pastrami sandwich or not!

    1. haha yeahhh...I was super toursity with NY because it has so many important American symbols, if you think about it :) It's as if it was my American duty to visit all of them ;)

  8. Is it normal that I didnt understand anything from what is written in the 6th photo? :)

    1. haha yeahhhh...that's old English. So you shouldn't really understand.
