So, Obama is president, and I'm cool with that :)
I also appreciated John McCain's speech and thought it truly came from the heart. Like I said earlier, I was fine with either candidate becoming the next president, for both of these guys are stand up men.
And, of course, it AMAZING that we have finally elected our first black president. AMAZING. Talk about a long time coming!
Most of all, I am so glad that all the election bullshit is over with!! Now back to our regularly scheduled programming, a.k.a. I can live my life without someone cornering me on the street asking if I'm registered!
Well, are you registered?
ReplyDeleteyes of course, I registered when I was 18.
ReplyDeleteafter 233 years, our first black president. i'd say that's something pretty spectacular. but give him a little time for that change. w's got us pretty darn f'ed up and the clean up will take a bit. but you're right, we can finally move on.
ReplyDeleteOh god, those people people asking if your registered. I work at a college, it never ends...
ReplyDeleteyes, THANK YOU, jidai! You know what I'm talkin bout :)
ReplyDeleteOBAMANATION.
ReplyDeleteThe end.
I wore my "I Voted" sticker all day yesterday so that people would stop bugging me by demanding to know if I'd voted or not.
I was...terrified...that Ohio, Indiana, Florida and Virginia were going to require recounts last night and that we'd be stuck with another six weeks of election coverage. Fortunately, once Ohio was called, the night was pretty much over.
ReplyDeleteOBAMA!!! O-BAM-AAA!!! Not sure if you're a South Park fan or not but I happened to watch it last night, the take they did on both Obama and McCain supporters and their reaction to the election was priceless.
