Here are some of my favorite things:
1. Pretend Sushi: I hate sushi, but I love tagging along for sushi outings. Usually I'm stuck getting mediocre chicken teriyaki. Enter fake sushi. The roll pictured below is stuffed with steak and fries and slathered in barbeque sauce. I love these little amusing touches that restaurants think up.
2. Solar Eclipse: Did you catch the solar eclipse on Sunday? Pretty sure I burned my eyeballs looking directly at it...but I couldn't help it! It was too fascinating to look away!
3. Finding Adam Levine in Random Places: Oh, alright....not the real Adam Levine (lest you forget the time the real deal pointed at me). But when you're walking through Target, shopping for such mundane items as cotton balls and shampoo, a small surprise such as this makes one very happy.
Did you take that photo of the eclipse?? That is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI didn't take the picture. I'm not that cool. A facebook friend took it, though!
DeleteFake sushi = brilliant. Was it delicious??
ReplyDeleteNot too bad at all. I think the novelty of it was the best thing about it :)
DeleteWhy do you hate Sushi? If I were you here are a couple Sushi types that don't have fish and should appeal to more Western palates. Inarizushi, which is a fried tofu pouch filled with rice, sweet and savory. Otherwise there is Tamagoyaki which is a Japanese omelet, but unlike Western omelets, it's folded over a dozen times, which makes the eggs even more fluffy.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for clogging the space, I am the nephew of a Sushi restaurant owner.
The simple answer is that I don't like seafood. I've tried sushi many times, to no avail. If there is one with tofu and eggs, I'll be sure to try it. I do love seaweed and rice...it's just the seafood!
DeleteHa I'm the opposite- I love sushi but none of my friends do so can never find anyone who wants to go with me!
ReplyDeleteI wish I would have caught the eclipse - think of the great photos! I didn't even hear about it. Did you take that photo?
ReplyDeleteNo, I didn't take it :) I'd like to learn how, though!!
DeleteI've had fried chicken "sushi" before, and I must say, it was delicious :-)
ReplyDeleteWhere is this sushi place? I'm somewhat in the same boat - friends who like it, and I hate seafood and end up with chicken (though sometimes I'll have the real thing)... but that steak sushi sounds intriguing.
