I Need Rain Boots

Well, actually, that would be a horrible investment for San Diego. But on days like today, I sure wish I had some.

Now, normally I LOVE rainy days...just click on my "rainy days" tag below and all my posts will start with "it's raining and I LOVE IT" or something to that effect. However, now that I am working with kids, my view of rainy days has been altered a little.

Rainy days+kids= no playground time = pent up energy = kids acting like they are on meth = me wanting to pull my eyebrows out (because I think I've already pulled my hair out).

*Breathe*

Alright, I will be ok. Wish me luck as I enter the battlefield.

When is the weekend going to get here?

  1. My kids are always bummed when it's raining and they know there will be no time outside for recess.

    Fortunately, I haven't fired off the "welcome to the real world, sweetheart" like my parents always did when I was bummed about something.

    See, I AM a better parent...not that that's saying much.

  2. It usually shows up around Friday afternoon, but the weekend is known to drag its feet sometimes.

  3. At the moment I need some serious snow boots! Or maybe skis. It's snowing AGAIN today, which is lovely, but also sooo dangerous and difficult to get around town.

    I keep watching that video of my friend singing 'What's Up' - it puts me in such a good mood!

    Ha, what went wrong. Goodness me. Well, it's a fairly long story, but in a nutshell it was really hard to get there because of the frozen roads, he'd basically fractured his ankle so was hopping around cooking me dinner on one leg, then he started feeling sick after he ate for no reason. I went to buy him some cigarettes in a bar opposite where he lives (I wouldn't let him go because of his ankle) and basically got accused of being a prostitute, hit on by a very persistent fella at the bar, kicked out because I had no ID, and then hit on again when I returned with my ID. He had a temperature and looked terrible, and then got called into work an hour early (they wouldn't give him a sick day) and so I sat by myself in his apartment watching Space Balls waiting for a friend to pick me up.

    Eventful =)

  4. Wow, little kids and rain never equals a good time. Unless they are knocked out for some reason. I'm not telling you to do that, but just think about it. :P

  5. I miss my kids that I work with this Saturday again . I miss them. I will see them again next Saturday, after Christmas.

    But then again, I get to see my baby nieces on the 25th and 26th. I miss my girls. Come enough time, the kids you work with feel like your own kids; at least, that's how I've always felt. As one tutor told me once, I was very protective of the kids that I teach, meaning that if another tutor suddenly had to work with one of my kids, I would give the tutor all the feedback they needed as to what the students needs were. I guess I'm a little bit of a control freak, but hey, I'll work on it.
