A Tale of Two Cities

1. London
2. San Diego

I was originally planning on staying in London until the very end of July, a few days before my friend gets married August 3rd. I wanted to get every last drop of London!

But now, my landlord has informed us that our lease is being terminated earlier than scheduled. We need to be out by June 30th. A nice friend of mine has offered a couch for me to stay on the last few weeks; however, this is not the ideal condition while trying to focus on finishing a dissertation.

So, I'm faced with the decision of going home A MONTH early, or trying to finish all my work while being a couchsurfer and staying in London. Hmmm...

I feel like time is being stolen from me!!

    1. No, I don't. I think it makes me sad that I'd be losing time here, though!

  2. Oh nooo! That is really bad news :( Aren't there like tons of people renting out their rooms on monthly basis while they travel? Hope you can find a way to stay!

    1. Yeah, there are. But it makes me sick to think about having to move any more than i should have to! I despise moving! Plus they love to hike up the prices for short term leases. When it comes down to it, it may be less stressful to move home early, just sad that I'd have to do so cause I'll miss London!

  3. Oh no! That's lame that he can just end it early. I say stay on the couch and soak up London as much as you can.

  5. That sucks! If it was me, I'd probably go home but I would be terrible at staying somewhere that wasn't home and trying to finish a dissertation. The thought gives me heart palpitations. Can you negotiate with your landlord, no?
